Who is this course for?
It is suitable for those wishing to become nannies, home-based child carers, activity club leaders, out of school club workers and those working or volunteering with children who require an understanding of the common core of skills and knowledge for the children's workforce.
Course content
This training covers the key areas that support safe and effective practice when working with children and families, including:
- Effective communication and engagement
With children, young people and their families
- Child and Young person development
including Supporting learning and wellbeing
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
With a focus on recognising and responding to concerns
- Supporting transitions
and understanding the impact of change on children and families
- Multi-agency working
including the importance of collaboration with other professionals

confidentiality and professional responsibilities
