Drainage

In line with the Transport Asset Management Plan priorities and the Highways Management Plan, the additional funding for 2023/24 of £1.9m, with a further £0.5m being considered by Cabinet for 2024/25, has been targeted towards essential drainage improvements and repairs including the replacement and repair of drains, gullies, inspection chambers, interception pits, piped ditches, grips, kerbed offsets, ditches, soakaways and trash screens which make up the highway drainage systems.

The additional funding is being used to deliver works quickly to address areas of property and network flooding due to highway surface water. Funding has been allocated on a countywide prioritisation basis.
