Your commitment

Your commitment

By engaging in testing, you're helping to keep you and your employees safe, and to reduce infection so that we can return to normality as soon as possible. To participate in the Workplace Remote Testing by Lateral Flow Device (LFT) for Covid-19 programme you must commit to the following actions:

  1. Training: Complete the designated modules of the mandatory online training and watch the video. You must download and keep the competency certificates as you will be asked to present the certificates as evidence of completing the training, for quality assurance purposes. The required training modules are:
    1. How to give guidance on self-swabbing for the Innova LFD test
    2. How to process COVID-19 tests using the Innova Lateral Flow Device
    3. How to log results for COVID-19 tests using the Innova Lateral Flow Device
    4. Test Operatives – using the Log Results website
  2. Testing: Ensure that testing is provided and completed by yourself and / or employed staff, who have attained the required standard as provided in the detailed online training linked to this programme. You MUST have attained this level before starting to test. You MUST complete your testing in accordance with the information and guidance on the SMART Testing web page, in line with the DHSC Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) guidelines (including the storage area for tests) for sample collection, analysis, disposal and reporting. The modules guide you through this.
  3. Regular testing: Complete testing regularly (every 3 to 4 days) under a workplace testing schedule and acknowledge that testing is not compulsory.
  4. Register and Report: Register and report every test completed, including positive, negative and invalid test results, using the DHSC digital portal and also provide a regular report to LCC.
  5. Waste Disposal: Ensure that disposal of waste will take place at the place of test, as per the guidance provided on the website and in the guide document; for clarity, materials will be treated as domestic waste when a test is completed remotely (in the home).
  6. Evaluation: Take part in evaluation and appropriate quality assurance, if asked. Data is anonymised for this purpose
  7. I agree to report any incidents to my line manager, if employed, or through the MHRA as per the guidance.

By submitting your Registration Form, you confirm that you agree and understand the following:

  • You will collect test kits from a designated location. This will be either a community location or from your normal place of work. Collections of kits form your normal place of work only applies where management has made arrangements to collect suitable volumes of LFT kits for all staff
  • If you receive a positive test result, you understand that you have to self-isolate immediately and you have to request a follow up PCR test (if you work in Adult Social Care or Early Years Settings) by accessing the usual routes available nationally as noted in the guidance supplied.
  • You will need to self-isolate as per government guidelines. Daily close contacts will also need to self-isolate.
  • You understand LFT testing will not remove requirements to follow national government guidance on COVID-safe workplaces, such as social distancing.
  • The tests are done in an indoors environment and you understand the process and risks associated.
