SEND local offer feedback 2016-2017

Here is an overview of some types of recent feedback we use to improve our services and information:

Look and feel of the website

We have listened to your feedback on how the local offer pages look and feel. Suggestions we have received cover areas that include colours, fonts and imagery as well as the general layout, navigation and functionality. This is an ongoing theme and you can view some of the comments and suggestions that have been made about this in the feedback and comments from 2014-16.

The local offer will have a new look and feel to it in the near future.

Young People's feedback

All the feedback we have in this current period has been received via the work we have done with Lancashire County Council's participation council group for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (POWAR) and through collaborative workshops held with children, young people, parent carers and professionals.

Parent and carers

We have received and acted upon general ongoing feedback from our work with the Lancashire Parent Carer Forum through meetings, their Facebook and Twitter participation pages and collaborative workshops.

Below is an overview of some of the specific feedback we have received recently:

Activities and Groups

You said

You said through a local parent carer forum you wanted a park suitable for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities in Hyndburn.

We did

We contacted Hyndburn Borough Council and assisted parents to see what could be done. Further details can be found on the Hyndburn Green spaces website, Facebook or Twitter pages.

Early Years and education establishments

We did not receive any feedback directly related to our Local Offer online, however, we have been asked some questions from individual educational establishments about how to produce and publish their own local offers.

Early year's settings are advised that the information about their establishment's local offer should ideally be hosted on their individual website.  A hyperlink should be sent to their Local Authority at lancashirelocaloffer@lancashire.gov.uk. If they do not have their own website, they should send the Local Authority a pdf version of their local offer to the email above.

Early years local offers can be found on individual establishments' websites which can be found on our childcare for children with special educational needs or disabilities page or by contacting our Family Information Service.

Education establishments should make sure a hyperlink to our Local Offer web pages is provided on their individual website. Education establishments are to inform the Local Authority that they have their local offer on their website and an SEN report with a link to their homepage. These details can be sent to the following email to confirm lancashirelocaloffer@lancashire.gov.uk.
