SEND Improvement Board
Following the SEND inspection, we were required to create a SEND Improvement Board. This has now been set up and has replaced the SEND Partnership Board.
The expected improvement notice was published on GOV.UK on 5 June 25. In response to this the SEND Partnership acknowledges the findings of the joint Ofsted and CQC inspection of our SEND services, and are deeply sorry that children and families have been let down. The experiences highlighted in the report are unacceptable, and we are determined as a partnership, to put things right.
The SEND Improvement Board oversees the Priority Action Plan (PAP) and monitors progress. The board is led by an independent chair, with advisors from the Department for Education and NHS England, and reports to both Lancashire County Council and the Integrated Care Board (ICB).
The county council’s cabinet and the ICB board will regularly review updates and make key decisions to keep things moving forward. The scrutiny committee and the ICB quality committee will keep an eye on progress and make sure everything stays on track.
The SEND Improvement Operations Group will focus on the day-to-day work, ensuring activities are carried out effectively and making sure the plan is making a real impact.
The SEND Improvement Board meet each month to discuss and track the progress of the plan and also agree next actions.
