Introduction

Lancashire County Council is in the process of reviewing Carers services in Lancashire. We wish to engage with key stakeholders to gather information and share initial commissioning considerations via an online questionnaire.

As part of the future redesign, we are seeking feedback through this early market engagement:

 ·       to inform and shape the future service offer

 ·       ensure it is aligned to our Carers Strategy

 ·       coordinate carers services across the county

The following services are being considered in this engagement:

Lancashire Carers Assessment and Support Service

The service executes Lancashire County Councils Statutory obligations to support adult carers (18+) by playing a significant role in identifying carers, carrying out carers assessments and giving support to help them to understand how they manage their caring responsibilities whilst also maintaining their own wellbeing. The service offers a range of support including information, advice, emotional support, group networks and access to Carers Assessments.

Young Carers

The service fulfils Lancashire County Councils Statutory obligations to support children and young people under the age of 18 to carry out their caring responsibilities whilst also promoting and protecting their wellbeing. It provides information, representation, advice, emotional support, group networks, dedicated one to one interventions and access to carers assessments.

This engagement questionnaire has been designed to be part of our market engagement activities and is intended to build upon our existing knowledge of the market in Lancashire and the wider UK.

Throughout the engagement exercise, we hope to use the information and feedback we receive to develop our plans for the future of carers services in Lancashire and to help us deliver best-in-class services. We intend to carry out further market engagement, to focus on service specific feedback and allow opportunities for further insights to inform any future procurement.

For the avoidance of doubt the proposals set out within the market engagement document are the potential options and are subject to change before the Invitation to Tender is published in the event that the service is procured via a competitive process

The Authority may publish the results of the Strongly Agree - Strongly Disagree questions, but will not publish the narrative submitted by respondents.
