Earlier this year, the Government announced a public inquiry into the Southport stabbings.
The Rt Hon Sir Adrian Fulford has been appointed as Chair of the inquiry, and he will scrutinise how various public organisations performed their roles.
The remit of the inquiry will involve reviewing our approaches, recommendations, and support.
We are committed to full cooperation with the inquiry. We are supported by a specialist legal team who will provide assistance to anyone required to engage with the inquiry.
The families of the three young girls who were murdered, and all other victims of this tragic crime, remain foremost in our thoughts.

New procurement rules came into force earlier this year which aim to improve the way supplies, services and works are procured for the public sector.
As part of this, the National Procurement Policy Statement has been refreshed, emphasising policy priorities such as improving access for SMEs, driving social value, and championing innovation.
Teams engaged in procurement activity need to be aware some processes have changed and should familiarise themselves with the revised Procurement Rules.
