Strategic review of Adult Social Care Services – consultation open

  • Following our recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) rating of 'Requires Improvement', we’re taking an important step in our improvement journey.
  • This is part of our commitment to deliver on our shared vision for adult social care - Living Better Lives in Lancashire.
  • On 9 October 2025, Cabinet approved the start of a strategic review of the adult social care services directly provided by the council. The first phase of this review includes a public consultation focused on ten services: five Older People’s Residential Care Homes and five Day Centres.
  • We’re committed to making sure everyone - our dedicated staff, the people we support, their families, care providers and the wider community - can be part of this conversation.
  • The consultation opened on 17 October and will run until Friday 12 December.
  • You can find out more and complete the online questionnaire here.
  • We know this may be an emotional time for many, especially for those of you who care deeply about the people you support and the services you help deliver every day. Please be assured that your views matter and your voice is central to this process.
  • We’re committed to working together to minimise any disruption or distress. All feedback will be carefully considered and used to help shape the recommendations that will go to Cabinet in February 2026.

Local Government Reorganisation

  • We’re preparing to submit our Local Government Reorganisation proposal to Government by end of November 2025.
  • Draft papers will be published next week ahead of scrutiny committee on 6 November.
  • The results of the recent public survey will also be available.
  • The final business case will be presented to:
    • Full Council on 20 November
    • Cabinet on 27 November for approval to submit
    • Staff can find more information or ask questions via the Devolution and Local Government Reorganisation intranet site or the staff area of the county council website.

Staff Survey 2025

  • Thanks to everyone who took the time to complete this year’s Staff Survey.
  • Your feedback is incredibly important and helps us understand what’s working well and where we can do better.
  • We’re pleased to share that this year’s response rate was 40% which means 5449 of you completed the survey, a clear sign of your commitment to shaping the future of working life at LCC.
  • We’re now analysing the results and will begin sharing key findings from mid-November through a range of channels.
  • Keep an eye out for further updates.
