Full council

  • The new cabinet was ratified at Thursday's Full Council meeting.
  • County Councillor Stephen Atkinson was confirmed as leader, and County Councillor Simon Evans as deputy leader. Additionally, several new Cabinet roles and positions have been established.

Claims and expenses

  • If you are a manager, please remember, it is your responsibility to verify and authorise all claims relating to mileage, travel, overtime enhancements, and additional hours within the published deadlines.
  • It's important that these claims are submitted at the correct rate and unit for the employee.
  • The allowance and expenses rates have now been reviewed and updated and can be found on the intranet.

AI - Empowering our workforce with intelligent tools

  • We recently partnered with Microsoft to integrate Generative AI into our service delivery, enhancing our productivity.
  • AI technology will help us cut through time-consuming tasks, freeing up our workforce to focus on areas that matter most.
  • Targeted work is currently underway in Adults and ECS services where AI will assist with tasks like assessments, reviews, plans and transcriptions, saving staff valuable time.
  • The partnership provides dedicated support from Microsoft, helping us integrate AI smoothly into complex processes.
  • By automating repetitive tasks, we can concentrate on important work that requires human insight, care and decision making, improving both our services and outcomes.
