Senior Leadership Team conference

  • On Wednesday, 18 June, we held our first senior leadership conference of the year.
  • The session provided a valuable platform for our leaders to collaboratively explore strategies for shaping and guiding the organisation's future.
  • Key discussions centred on supporting our new administration, strengthening our financial stability, and embracing innovative technologies. The productive dialogue underscored our collective commitment to these priorities.
  • It was truly inspiring to witness the high level of engagement and the presence of so many dedicated individuals.

Cabinet ELT session

  • On Tuesday, 17 June, the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) had the pleasure of meeting with our new Cabinet members.
  • This inaugural session was extremely positive, providing an excellent opportunity to discuss our budget and establish our joint priorities.
  • We are looking forward to our next session, which is scheduled to take place in early July.

Working with our councillors

  • Effective working with our councillors is essential.
  • The Member / Officer protocol sets out the different roles of councillors and officers and provides guidance on how we should work together.
  • Remember our "Think Councillor" principles to make sure we put councillors at the forefront of our minds in our work.
  • Make sure that your service understands and is using the new Councillor Enquiry System for councillors' casework.
  • There are more resources on our intranet to help you work with councillors.
  • For further help and advice, contact democratic.services@lancashire.gov.uk.

Southport inquiry

  • The council is actively engaging with the inquiry and has applied for Core Participant Status, allowing us to contribute fully.
  • The inquiry has requested documentation from several agencies, and we are cooperating fully.
  • An early hearing is likely to be scheduled in the next few months.
  • At this stage, it is uncertain whether the council will be invited to participate in this hearing.
  • If you or your colleagues are affected and need additional support, please speak to your line manager, visit the ‘My Health and Wellbeing’ pages on the intranet, or contact WellbeingSupport@lancashire.gov.uk.
