The new SharePoint intranet is now live, with a clearer layout, improved accessibility and a simpler, more intuitive design.
It offers better integration with Microsoft 365 tools, improved collaboration and smarter search to help you find information quickly.
You can give feedback using the form in the footer of every page. This will be reviewed and used to make improvements to the site.
Some areas, such as Education and Children's services and Adults, Health and Wellbeing, will be moved across in the coming weeks.
Use the A to Z to find content that has not yet moved to the new intranet.
Short videos, hints and tips and a treasure hunt will be shared soon to help you get the most from the new intranet.
Local Government Association Corporate Peer Challenge
In March, we took part in an LGA Corporate Peer Challenge, giving us an independent view of our progress and priorities.
The report recognises the commitment, resilience and pride of colleagues across LCC and describes our leadership culture as collaborative, supportive and respectful.
Peer reviewers highlighted strong visible leadership, a clear drive to improve and a stronger corporate core supporting services.
They also recognised better use of data and performance information, alongside improved governance and scrutiny arrangements.
The review confirms that our improvement work has accelerated over the past 12–18 months, while also identifying where we need to go further.
For the year ahead we will therefore focus on financial resilience, stronger data and insight, place and civic pride, governance and scrutiny, adult social care improvement and preparing for local government reorganisation.
The policy format and wording have been updated to:
strengthen governance and provide greater leadership clarity
align more explicitly with HSG65 (Plan, Do, Check, Act) and the council’s corporate management system (Leading Lancashire Framework)
improve structure, readability and use of plain English
make commitments clearer and more measurable
embed worker consultation and engagement
If you are a manager, please share this with your team so they are aware of the revised policy, know how to access it and can embed it into day-to-day activities.
