Staff survey 2023

Our staff survey is an important tool for capturing your thoughts and feedback, which are so important to shaping the organisation going forward and letting us know what works well and what we need to change.

In 2022 following feedback from staff and consultation with our Change Influencer network and some team managers, we created two surveys. One for staff who regularly use and have access to a device in work and one for staff who don't.

The questions

Each survey included a set of standard questions that were common to all and hopefully were relevant to all, regardless of role or service.

At the end of each survey staff were asked to answer some standard monitoring questions including gender, working hours and service.

Understanding the composition of our workforce allows us to identify, tackle and prevent any issues which we may not know is affecting particular groups of staff.

The survey is confidential. In analysing and reporting on the data we take significant steps to ensure that no single individual can be identified through any of the survey results, and we will only ever report on responses from groups of 10 people or more.

If you want to find out more about how will use your data, please refer to the Lancashire County Council Privacy Notice.

Completing the survey

Since 2022, we have been writing to all of our staff who do not have an LCC e-mail address to ensure they are informed about the survey and to give them easy instructions to access it, including a QR code and internet address. We also use staff news items, email links and posters displaying the QR code and internet address to communicate to staff how to access the survey on a work or personal device.

Our wonderful Change Influencer Network play a key role in promoting the survey locally with colleagues in services. Our Change Influencers are identifiable by their orange corporate lanyards, so they stand out both in buildings and on virtual calls. These colleagues work with us to spread the word about the survey and to encourage other staff to take part.
