Employee assistance programme

Counselling and advice

Our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) gives free, confidential advice and counselling for personal, family or work issues that are impacting on your health and wellbeing.

The service is provided by an independent mental health company, Wellbeing Solutions. There is no cost to you and all calls are confidential.

Whatever your age, background or role in life, from time to time we all have problems – whether personal, family, or work-related.

Talking to a counsellor or an advisor can help us understand a problem, try a different approach, or just learn how to cope with a situation that we can’t change.

You and family members (aged 16 or over and living at your address) can book in two ways:

  1. Call the helpline – open 24/7, 365 days a year: 0800 0542 301. Use access code lccsupport.
  2. Use live chat – available 8am to 8pm. Outside these hours, call the helpline. Go to www.employeeassistance.org.uk, click Log in, and enter access code lccsupport to open the live chat.

If you choose counselling, your first session will be a telephone assessment. The counsellor may then arrange weekly sessions if needed.

If you need professional advice or factual information on any legal, money, health, work or personal issue, they will arrange for a free telephone consultation with one of their specialist advisors.

The Employee Assistance Programme website also contains a range of articles, videos and a monthly newsletter. To access the website:

  2. Enter access code lccsupport
