County Hall
Your main entrances to County Hall will likely be Pitt Street Reception (if arriving by foot or on public transport) or the Gatehouse (if arriving by car). From both entrances you can access the main County Hall building, which houses political group offices and the committee floor:
- Ground floor– building entrances and Reflections café
- First floor– Conservative Group office, the Chief Executive’s office, and Democratic Services
- Second floor– committee floor, including Members’ Retiring Room
- Third floor– Labour Group office
The committee floor consists of the Council Chamber, several other meeting rooms and the Members’ Retiring Room (The John of Gaunt Room). The Members’ Retiring Room is reserved for the use of councillors to work or meet informally and includes access to a printer and a hot drinks machine.
The principal meeting rooms are:
Cabinet Room B - The Diamond Jubilee Room
Cabinet Room C - The Duke of Lancaster Room
Cabinet Room D - The Henry Bolingbroke Room
Members’ Retiring Room - The John of Gaunt Room
In the lobby area of the committee floor is an electronic display which shows all the meetings on that day and which room they’re in.
