Community

We will give you information and support to help you participate in society and be part of your community.

We will encourage and help you to enrol on the Electoral Register, so you can vote in elections.

Your personal adviser will tell you about clubs, groups and projects in your area that might suit your interests. We've also put some links at the end of this page that you might be interested in.

Financial support

We will provide funding for your hobbies, leisure activities, talents or skills (based on your needs assessment, noted in your pathway plan).

Some leisure centres offer free and subsidised memberships for care leavers aged 16-25. Contact your personal adviser for more details.

More information and advice

Take a look at our events for care leavers or your voice for more information about how you can have your say on issues that affect care leavers and children in care.

There are a range of groups and youth centres for people aged 12-19, or 25 if you have special educational needs or a disability.

The county council website has information about events in our libraries and museums and volunteering opportunities.
