Who is this course for?

Mandatory training for all Social Workers and Social Care Support Officers in Adult Social Care, and all Occupational Therapists.

Please note these dates have been arranged for people who could not attend the previous sessions and the course is not currently available to student social workers or agency workers.

Aims

To promote the ability to challenge decisions and negotiate appropriate compromise with confidence.

Objectives

At the end of the course participants will be able to:

• Describe the structure of negotiation, and the skills needed for successful negotiating.
• Outline how to apply strategies for identifying mutual gain and influencing others.
• Describe how to reach consensus and set the terms of agreement.
• Demonstrate Negotiation skills in practise.
