Lancashire County Council election results

Saturday, May 8, 2021

Lancashire County Council's results have been announced for the election held on 6 May 2021.

The results announced by the county's returning officer, Angie Ridgwell, are:

Conservative 48
Labour 32
Green Party 2
Liberal Democrat 2

Total: 84 seats

The Conservative Party remains in control of Lancashire County Council.

Following the announcement of the results, Angie Ridgwell said: "Because of the Covid-19 pandemic these elections have been different, and I would like to say thank-you to everyone who helped to make sure the election process ran smoothly in the county.

"A lot of hard work went on behind the scenes to ensure people did not lose their right to vote, with proxy and postal options available for those unable to attend polling stations, and some changes to locations to ensure a covid safe layout.

"Voters who attended in person really helped by following Covid-19 guidelines and in many cases brought their own pens along, which helped speed up the voting process for everyone.

"I would also particularly like to thank the staff who manned the polling stations throughout Thursday, as well as today's vote counters who have worked diligently so I could quickly and accurately announce the results."
