Residents urged: when you get the invite, get the jab

Thursday, January 28, 2021

Lancashire Resilience Forum is urging all residents to get their Covid jab when invited by the NHS.

Lancashire is leading the way with more people per head getting the vaccine than anywhere else in the North West. Nearly 90% of all over-80s have had the jab in the county.
Angie Ridgwell, chair of the Lancashire Resilience Forum, said: "The roll out of the vaccine in Lancashire has been phenomenal and that's down to the hard work of our local NHS working closely with other public bodies along with the enthusiastic response of the Lancashire people who have been offered it so far.
"When you are contacted by the NHS to get the jab, please make sure you attend your appointment. You will get a warm welcome from our dedicated NHS staff and volunteers. And of course getting the jab will help you and others."
The NHS has assured the LRF that all residents in the top four priority areas will be offered the jab by mid-February. This includes everyone over 70 and people deemed clinically extremely vulnerable.
Angie added: "If you get invited to have the jab, please be assured that there will be a needle with your name on it."
