Wide-ranging items on the Cabinet agenda
Thursday, October 1, 2020
Lancashire's County Council's Cabinet will be meeting later today (Thursday 1 October) to discuss possible improvements to services.
Speaking ahead of the meeting, the Leader of Lancashire County Council, Geoff Driver CBE, said: "We know that this is a difficult time for everyone as we deal with the pandemic. We all need to keep working together to protect each other and stay safe.
"While this is going on, we're still working hard to improve our services for the people we serve in Lancashire. At the Cabinet meeting, we'll be discussing alternative education provision for children and young people. We’ll also look at a pilot scheme in Preston to help people with visual impairments to get around more easily, and dealing more effectively with winter weather on our road network.
"It's important to us that we continue to support people who live and work here in Lancashire, even during these challenging times.
"Thank you to everyone in Lancashire for what you're doing to reduce the spread, and especially to our county council staff, who are working really hard to reduce the impact of the pandemic."
