Lancashire County Council will be introducing a small charge for the public to use three car parks in central Preston.
Following Cabinet agreement yesterday, the charges will involve the car parks at the Registration Office, Record Office and weekend parking on the Arthur Street car park.
The parking fees will start at £1 and up to £4 for 12 hours. This is in line with other county council car parks in the city centre.
They will be introduced later in the year, once payment machines have been installed.
The funding will be used to maintain the car parks.
More information about the fees and car parks is included in Item 5 from yesterday's Cabinet meeting.
