Year 6 Making and Moderating Judgements against the Teacher Assessment Framework (Writing)

To provide guidance for Year 6 teachers in making judgements against the statements from the teacher assessment framework for the end of Key Stage two for writing.
To benchmark evidence against national exemplification. (Local and National)
To moderate judgements made in writing against the statements

For the academic year 2023/2024, Year 6 teachers are required to make Teacher Assessment judgements for writing.

Participants are asked to bring teacher assessment evidence for writing for between 3 and 5 children. This may include hard copy evidence such as work in books, teacher records and photographs or electronic evidence such as that on an iPad/tablet.

Opportunities will be given to discuss the accuracy of judgements with other practitioners, consultants and local authority moderators. Participants will also have the opportunity to benchmark their work in relation to national exemplification materials.

This course does not replace any statutory moderation that the school may be required to take part in
