Lancashire Archives is part of Lancashire County Council's Heritage Learning Team Simply Schools programme, providing on site learning sessions:

The Scribe and the Seal

Take a trip back in time with our scribe to hear tales of his work, illuminate manuscripts, journey to the heart of the archives to see behind the scenes, and make your own medieval seal.

WW1: A Brother's Journey

In a thought-provoking and experimental session using archives, artefacts and active participation, pupils will piece together the lives of two WW1 soldiers and brothers through their letters home. They will also have a chance to look behind the scenes at Lancashire Archives.

These sessions cost £2.50 for Lancashire County Council (LCC) pupils and £3 for non-LCC pupils. To book a session please contact the Heritage Learning Team:
