Coronavirus - disruption to services

The archive searchroom is at first floor level, accessible by lift. An accessible toilet is available.
There is limited visitor parking at Lancashire Archives, including two spaces for Blue Badge holders. Occasionally, at busy times, the car park does become full, so visitors may prefer to use one of the park and ride services. The park and ride buses stop near Preston railway station. From 28 October 2019 the car park will be subject to pay and display parking charges.
The charging structure for the pay and display parking will be:
- Up to 1 hr £1.00
- Up to 2 hrs £1.60
- Up to 4 hrs £3.20
- Over 4 hrs £4.00
For people who don't have cash there will be a facility to phone and pay by card - for which there will be a small additional fee.
The parking charges will apply Monday to Saturday, any time the building is in use.
For disabled visitors, displaying a blue badge permit, the first three hours will be free. Any time longer than this will need to be paid for in accordance with the current charging structure. If disabled visitors exceed this time limit, a Penalty Charge will become payable.
By train Preston station, on the West Coast main line, is 5 minutes' walk from Lancashire Archives.
By bus - local and long-distance buses stop near the railway station or at Preston bus station, some 15 minutes' walk from Lancashire Archives.
