NHS Morecambe Bay CCG

NHS Morecambe Bay CCG launched in April 2017, merging Lancashire North CCG with the South Cumbria area. It is made up of 35 practices, who care for around 346,000 patients (December 2018) making it the second biggest CCG operating in the Lancashire-12 area. However, it should be noted that this CCG's boundary covers both Lancashire County Council and Cumbria County Council. The majority of patients live in the districts of Lancaster, South Lakeland and Barrow-in-Furness, with the remaining patients mainly coming from Wyre, Copeland, and Craven.

The registered population is evenly split between females (50.1%) and males (49.9%), with almost a fifth of the population aged 65 or over and 28% aged 0-24, reflecting the large student population. The remaining 51% are aged 25 to 64.
