NHS Morecambe Bay CCG

NHS Morecambe Bay CCG launched in April 2017, merging Lancashire North CCG with the South Cumbria area. It is made up of 35 practices, who care for around 351,000 patients (June 2020) making it the second biggest CCG operating in the Lancashire-12 area. However, it should be noted that this CCG's boundary covers both Lancashire County Council and Cumbria County Council. The majority of patients live in the districts of Lancaster, South Lakeland and Barrow-in-Furness, with the remaining patients mainly coming from Wyre, Copeland, and Craven.

The registered population is evenly split between females and males. Over a quarter (28%) are aged 0-24, reflecting the large student population in the area. A half (50%) are aged 25 to 64, with 22% aged 65 and over.
