We are delivering a range of large-scale programmes which will form key components of our economic recovery from the Covid pandemic and future growth plans.
These programmes and projects will shape and transform the county's identity for many years to come, essentially 'redefining Lancashire', bringing thousands of new jobs and increasing investment and skills.
We are investing in additional resources and creating a dedicated multi-disciplinary Major Project and Strategic Development Team to strengthen capacity and deliver an extensive programme of development projects, major transport and highway interventions to an accelerated programme.
We are currently in the process of developing and delivering a truly ambitious plan for growth which is vitally important to drive economic recovery and fully realise our potential for the benefit of all our residents, businesses and communities.

- The delivery of the £160m Samlesbury Enterprise Zone
- The £125m Eden Project North
- Lancashire Central at Cuerden, Lancashire's prime mixed-use strategic employment site
- Plans for Preston City Centre to maximise the opportunities of HS2
- £140m South Lancaster Growth Catalyst
- Lancashire-wide Infrastructure Plan
- Lancashire Economic Recovery Grant Programme

Strategic Development roles
We are looking for exceptional candidates who have the ability to deliver outcomes as a key member of a number of projects and work-streams at any given time, working in collaboration with other specialist disciplines and key partners – these can vary in both scale and nature, making the workload extremely interesting.

We provide excellent career and progression opportunities and have a number of exciting roles that provide staff with the opportunity to progress. The roles are:
An experienced Estates Development Lead will support the authority on delivering our major schemes.
Our Programme Managers will support the development, delivery and management of the county council’s strategic economic development priorities.
Our Principal Planner will support the Planning and Project Manager in providing planning advice and project support to enable the delivery of our key sites.
Our Project Managers will support the key projects and priorities identified by the Head of Strategic Development in line with the County Council’s economic priorities.
Our Project Officers will support the delivery of key projects and strategic development priorities.
The Major Project and Strategic Development Team will be based in County Hall with remote working likely to be in place initially due to COVID-19 restrictions and potentially a move towards a new model of hybrid working.
