School holiday activities

During the Easter and summer holidays from school, activities will be available for children and young people who usually receive a free school meal.

The programme, known as the Virtual Easter Discover Camp, is for children and young people aged 4 to 16.

It provides four hours per day per person, during one week at Easter and four weeks in the summer holidays.

A specific programme for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) is also being created.

Funding for the Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF) has been provided from the government to Lancashire County Council.

It's optional to take part in the programme.

While the Easter programme will need to be online or by using activity packs, due to the current Covid situation. Activities are planned for the summer holidays where people can get together, especially outdoor activities.

The programme is being delivered through existing community and youth organisations including Youth Action, Street Games, SHARES Lancashire and the West Lancashire Sport Partnership.
