(Updated April 2021)
All schools are due to reopen from Monday 8 March. From this date all county council contracted dedicated school bus services will operate as well as any duplicate services that were operated last term. Fares will be taken on board from 8 March or valid passes should be shown.
Please keep up to date on school travel and school bus services by checking our website for information. You can also find our more about travelling to school in Lancashire.
Disruption to bus and rail services
The latest information on travelling is available at gov.uk website.
With the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there may be some disruption or changes to bus and rail services. Please follow government advice and travel safely by walking and cycling, if you can. This will help maintain capacity on public transport for key workers and essential travel. For details of any changes, please visit the bus operators websites.
You can also help control coronavirus by:
- working from home where possible
- washing or sanitising your hands regularly
- keeping your distance when you travel, where possible
- avoiding the busiest routes, as well as busy times like the rush hour
For the latest information and guidance on using public transport, visit the government website
Face coverings are mandatory on public transport
Face coverings must be worn by all passengers aged 11 and over while using public transport to help reduce the spread of coronavirus. Face coverings must be worn throughout the journey, and in enclosed spaces such as buses and train stations, unless you are exempt.
Please note that face coverings are not the same as face masks. The government has set out advice on how to make and wear your own face coverings easily at home, using a scarf or other textile items. It is important that you do not use medical grade PPE masks to ensure these remain available for frontline staff
When using public transport, practice social distancing and where possible please buy tickets online or use contactless payments. Please remember to wash your hands before and after travelling.
Our bus operators throughout Lancashire have been working hard to ensure passengers have as clean and safe a journey as possible during the pandemic. Extra cleaning measures have been put into place, and available seating has been reduced to allow social distancing.
Before travelling, please check your bus operator's website for the latest travel information and bus times.
