We are re-designing the delivery of our parent carer meetings. From April 2018, the Information, Advice and Support (IAS) Team will no longer be running local parent carer forums.
We are looking to arrange regular IAS meetings in various locations across Lancashire and are exploring ways of providing a range of IAS drop in sessions to include guest speakers, special educational needs (SEN) courses and information events. These will be held at different times to allow more parents and carers to access our service.
If you have any comments or ideas on the above, please email FIND@lancashire.gov.uk. Your responses will feed into our planning discussions.
Our next FIND out about SEND courses will be running during June at venues across Lancashire.
VoCaL (Voice of Carers across Lancashire) - independent parent/carer forum
Parents recently hosted a series of events and webinars designed to re-engage with parent/carers and establish a new independent parent carer forum. They have chosen a new name – VoCaL (Voice of Carers across Lancashire) – and will be discussing the structure and governance of the new forum at their next meeting in September 2018. If you would like to be involved, or find out more about the forum, please contact LancsPCF@gmail.com.
Contact, a charity for families with disabled children, offers support, news and resources for parent carer forums.
