Group updates and where to go for more information
Your Midwife is still seeing you at the times expected, they will arrange appointments with you, may be in your home or at the hospital. If you have any concerns around your antenatal care, appointments or just need advice call the numbers on your letter.
We currently have a virtual zoom antenatal class for pregnant ladies between 20-40 weeks. This 2 week course supports parents-to-be through pregnancy and beyond. The programme provides you with relevant information to help you make informed choices about birth, preparation for the birth as well as key messages about infant feeding, safer sleep, play, communication and taking care of your baby.
During this difficult time our health partners are not undertaking well baby clinics in the community. Should you have a concern about the weight of your baby please call the duty health visitor. This number can be found in your baby’s red book.
Our partners at Virgin Care are not currently undertaking development checks in our centres.

To take part in any of our virtual groups and courses you will need a Zoom account and an email address.
You will need to set this account up prior to accessing the group. Once we have spoken to you, we will email you an invite into the group.

Transition group for Year 6 pupils only
The transition from primary school to secondary can be hard and a worrying time for some children. Our course is aimed at those who might benefit from some extra support and help to prepare. During the course we explore feeling, wishes and worries about going to high school and talk to children about what they can expect.
An opportunity to meet and integrate with other girls in a safe, welcoming environment. Come along and access fun activities as well as discuss current issues that may be affecting young girls today. Help increase confidence and support health and wellbeing through fun activities, discussions and relevant information.
Each district in Lancashire has a youth council, made up of young people aged 12-19. It is an opportunity for young people to have a voice and be able to influence decisions made locally and nationally. Regular meetings in districts give young people the opportunity to be involved in project and campaigns that they identify to be significant to them and others
Touching is the first communication a baby receives and the first language of their development is through the skin. Bonding builds trust and forms the foundation for the emotional development of the child.
Young people from ages 11-16 years are invited to take part in Zoom youth sessions at 7-8pm on both Wednesday and Thursday nights. Young people will meet up virtually and have a chat to old friends and make new friends while having fun.
The sessions are fun and entertaining with various activities for social interaction, informal discussions and debating looking at young people’s views on issues that are important to them, which helps build confidence and self-esteem.

Phab inspires and supports children, young people and adults with and without disabilities to make more of life together– breaking down community barriers, reducing social isolation, and creating opportunities for disabled people to enjoy the same activities and challenge as, and alongside, those without a disability.
A supportive course for women, to increase their self confidence, to feel empowered and make positive changes in their lives and relationships.
Our virtual group delivered via Zoom will provide a safe space for women to come together to share experiences, learn about keeping safe, how relationships impact on children and promoting positive wellbeing. focus on the

Triple P courses
This is a programme that doesn’t tell you how to parent. It’s more like a toolbox of ideas. You choose the strategies you need, you choose the way you want to use them.
It’s all about making Triple P work for you.
We will deliver weekly live Zoom sessions specifically for families with children in certain age bands, so that the content is relevant to everyone in the zoom room.

Triple P family transitions
A course for parents who have separated or divorced and are
struggling with conflict, communication and contact issues. Also for those parents who are worried about the impact on your children.
Learn strategies and skills to deal with your separation so that you feel more confident in managing your emotions and taking control of your life. Learn how best to support children with the separation and explore ways of responding to their needs and questions that reduce their worries and have positive relationships with their parents.
This course will be delivered weekly via Zoom and only 1 parent can attend each group.
