Selected routes in Wyre, Fylde & Lancaster will be gritted this evening.

The Forecast is for chilly and windy this afternoon with sunny spells and scattered showers. Cold and windy tonight with clear spells and showers, the showers turning increasingly wintry with some sleet and hail mixed in at low levels, but slowly turning more to sleet and wet snow on high routes above 200m with a slushy covering likely above 300m before the night is over. Where the showers turn to wet snow on high routes, Road Surface Temperature's will dip close to or just below zero with a risk of ice. Low routes should stay above zero, although a local dip in a hail shower can't be ruled out.
