Selective priority routes in Lancaster, Wyre and Fylde districts will be gritted this evening due to an ice risk

We have weather predictions of road temperatures falling close to or just below zero in North Lancashire tonight with a risk of ice. We will apply salt to all selective priority routes to deal with the risk but please drive carefully.

See our online gritting map for details of our priority routes.

Priority routes only cover a third of the highway network and ice can develop on treated surfaces caused by water run-off from fields or other sources due to recent heavy rainfall. Ice is most likely on untreated surfaces.
