When the bad weather strikes this winter, our fleet of gritters and snow ploughs will be working hard to keep Lancashire's roads moving.
You can view regular updates on the decisions to grit the county's roads and pavements below.
Selected routes in Lancaster District will be treated this evening.
A fairly chilly day with sunny intervals and a scattering of showers. The showers are likely to become more frequent for a time during the evening, some turning heavy with a risk of hail and isolated lightning. Overnight there will be clear spells and further showers, these likely to be most frequent during the second half of the night, some again of hail, with the majority affecting western and southern parts of the county. Over high ground some of the showers may be sleety. RSTs will become marginal in places later in the night, mainly on high ground. Largely dry on Sunday morning with sunny spells.
