How to access the Volunteer Service

The Volunteer Service for Adults aims to

  • break/prevent social isolation
  • promote physical and mental wellbeing
  • give adults the opportunity to develop a community presence.

Are you or do you know someone who is socially isolated? Are you an unpaid carer? Are you struggling to cope with a particular difficulty in your life? Are you a vulnerable adult?

If you can answer yes to any of the above questions then you may be eligible for a volunteer.

Our volunteers provide friendship, laughter and fun by giving a little of their time to befriending vulnerable adults and carers.

Anyone wishing to access the Volunteer Service must do so by contacting their local Social Service office. A member of staff will then contact you to arrange an assessment of your needs. A referral will then be made to Volunteer Services who will endeavour to recruit a volunteer to support you.
