- Keep Warm Keep Well - Supporting vulnerable people during cold weather
This leaflet is part of the national Keep warm Keep well programme - which aims to reduce chronic and acute health risks associated with cold weather. it contains advice for people working in primary care or social services, and for home care providers (Published by the NHS).
- Free Training Computer
The Lancashire Social Care Partnership & Lancashire Workforce Development Partnership are offering a free PC to be used for training purposes for all Preferred Providers. The first batch will be for Domiciliary Providers followed by Care Homes.

In Lancashire the number of people from black and minority ethnic communities is increasing. The issue facing us is to make sure that services are delivered in a culturally appropriate manner.

- Preferred Provider Annual Homecare Survey
The Council is introducing a quality survey to give everyone who receives a homecare service from a preferred provider an opportunity to tell us what they think about their service once each year.

Lancashire County Council is working with Skills for Care to pilot this project in Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.

Residential care notices
- Monitoring of Care Homes
During fee negotiations for 2008/9 it was indicated that changes to the monitoring of providers would be implemented. One of the reasons for this was to reassure Elected Members that the additional resources put into fees were underpinning a continued rise in the quality of services provided.
- Care Home Bandings
Fao: Home Owner/Manager Please find below details for completing the second questionnaire for the determination of your care home's banding for 2009/10. As you are aware, the banding will be determined on the questionnaires that you submit. The training element of the scheme is determined by taking an average of your returns from the three questionnaires. The scoring in relation to your care home's environment will be taken from the questionnaire completed in December 2008.
- Notification of transfer from net to gross payments for residential and nursing placements
From April 2008 we will be paying the gross fee for residential and nursing placements
