Services for people who have a mental health problem

We work with Primary Care Trusts and Lancashire Care NHS Trust and other providers to commission and deliver services that support people with mental health problems in accessing the same employment, housing and leisure opportunities as everyone else.

There are several Community Mental Health Teams throughout Lancashire that work with people who are experiencing mental health problems. The Community Mental Health Teams include social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, support workers, counsellors and administrative staff.

  Lancashire Care Trust provides health services to people who have a mental health problem in Lancashire, and Morecambe Bay Primary Care Trust provides services for people in the Lancaster and Morecambe Bay area. However, mental health services are mainly provided by local General Practitioners and other primary care staff, complemented by local voluntary run services.
