We have introduced some new ways to get bus information direct to your mobile phone
Bustxt is a new service that sends you the times of the next three or four buses due at your chosen stop direct to your mobile phone.
The great thing about bustxt is that you can:
Most bus stops in Lancashire have a unique eight character code beginning with lan (short for Lancashire) e.g. landtajw.
Once you have your code simply enter it in a message and text to 84268 and in a few seconds you’ll receive a reply giving you the times of the next three or four buses due at your stop.
Bustxt costs 25 pence per message sent (plus your usual network charges).
On the go? Get bus times direct to your phone via mobile internet. You can access NextBuses by going to www.nextbuses.mobi from your mobile internet browser or by texting Traveline to 84268 to receive a bookmark for the service.
Once you have accessed NextBuses, you will be prompted to enter your location. This can be a postcode, a street name or a town. You can then select your bus stop from the map to get information about the times and destinations of the next buses to leave from that stop. Where available, this information will be real time so you will know the exact time your bus is due to arrive.
Both services are powered by Traveline.
There are also a range of apps that have been developed for local bus information. New apps are being added all the time and you may find more when searching your app store.
A selection of apps are listed below, some are free and some are charged for.
Android Apps: Bus Scout, UK Stops, UK Bus Times, MyBus, Catch that Bus UK, TransiCast UK.
iPhone Apps: MyBus, Nextbuses, Buschecker UK
These apps are not provided by Lancashire County Council. Please read the descriptions and reviews before downloading.
