Building Design Unit

The Building Design Unit incorporates two professional areas of work involving design and building surveying which covers all aspects of a building project from initial inception to completion on site to on going repairs and maintenance throughout the life of the property.

Whatever your building needs the two professional practices within the Building Design Unit can help you.

The Design Practice
aims for excellence in design by providing a complete service for new buildings, extensions and adaptations, which are well constructed, energy efficient, pleasing to look at and meet the client's requirements in terms of cost, function, timescale, maintenance and future plans. The same high standards are applied to interior and furniture design as well as the hard and soft landscaped spaces around the buildings.

The Building Surveying Practice
manages, on the client's behalf, all the repairs and maintenance aspects of individual buildings by providing a rapid response and strict budgetary control for building repairs. Condition surveys and inspection services will report, monitor and advise clients of future maintenance needs. Service contracts are let and administered to meet essential Health and Safety legislation. Statutory duties entrusted to the Practice include the certification / inspection of sports stadia under Safety of Sports Grounds legislation, the licensing of explosive stores and the licensing of premises for carrying out marriages.
