About us

Who we are

We are a major provider of high quality outdoor learning opportunities with three outdoor education centres, each set in a beautiful and unique location within Lancashire and The Lake District.

Every year, we work with different schools and organisations offering powerful, life shaping experiences for children and adults.

Each Centre holds an Adventure Activities Licensing Service (AALS) licence and, where appropriate, National Governing Body recognition.

The entire team have a common goal to make all our guests feel special and provide them with a warm welcome and an experience that is memorable in the most positive way.

Our Tutors include qualified teachers and highly qualified instructional staff delivering programmes of outdoor learning in a safe, educational, fun package and all have extensive experience of building positive relationships with those they engage with.

What we do

We offer outstanding activities which lead to memorable learning - at whatever age!

We deliver holistic learning experiences in an outdoor environment, in keeping with the new National Curriculum and the commitment to outdoor learning.

We can deliver a broad and balanced programme of study which acknowledges that personal development is essential to wellbeing and achievement.

Ours are not just outdoor activity centres. We work in partnership with schools to make sure everything we do is based on sound educational principles, with a lasting impact on every individual.

Our aim is to develop successful, confident and responsible learners of all ages. We achieve our aim in the outdoors with a consideration for not only what is being learned but where and how.

Why we do what we do

All our outdoor education programmes have the following at their heart;

  • Available to all - from Early Years, through all the Key Stages and at Further Education and Higher Education Levels, for adults, families and for children with disabilities
  • Written, designed and delivered in partnership and after consultation with visiting groups to ensure individuals exceed expectations in an imaginative and stimulating way
  • Provide inspiration which for many can lead to a continued lifelong interest in physical activity and the personal well-being and life skills associated with it
  • Are able to draw from an extensive range of activities to make a bespoke programme best suited to each individual group's specific needs, requirements and expectations
  • Complement and enhance the education taking place 'inside the classroom'
  • Can be delivered in a flexible framework - whether a half day attached to your own activity, a full day or a multi-day residential
