The State of Lancashire

This PowerPoint presentation was made at the Lancashire Partnership Conference on Friday 18 May 2007. It presents a snapshot of some of the most important economic, environmental and social issues facing the 12-district Lancashire County Council area.

The Lancashire Partnership brings together civic leaders, key public sector agencies and a broad spectrum of partners to exchange ideas and sharpen collective thinking for the future well being of Lancashire.

There are a number of slides but it is still not possible to cover all the important economic and social topics without producing an unmanageable presentation. The information therefore can only present a brief 'taster' of some of the crucial factors.

The Lancashire Partnership covers the 12-district Lancashure NUTS-3 area, but a few of the slides incorporate results for the broader Lancashire NUTS-2 area that also includes Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool unitary authorities. The presentation could have simply covered the Lancashire NUTS-3 area, but it was thought useful to emphasise the fact that the Lancashire Profile covers the larger NUTS-2 area; therefore references to this larger area have been made on occasion.
