Very sadly Cllr Vivien Taylor passed away unexpectedly yesterday.
Cllr Taylor has been Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing since May this year and has been a Lancashire County Councillor for six years.
She represented Wyre Rural Central and played a very active part in her local community as well as being a councillor at Wyre Borough Council too. She was also the Chair of the Lancashire Health and Wellbeing Board.
County Councillor Geoff Driver CBE, leader of the county council, said: "Viv's sudden death has come as an enormous shock to all of us who had the pleasure of working with her. She was a very popular figure at the county council who always lit up the room with her cheerful personality. She was also a valued member of the cabinet who was really starting to make an impact in her remit for health and wellbeing. On behalf of the county council I'd like to send our deepest condolences to her family and friends. I have lost a close and dear friend as well as a valued and committed colleague. She will be much missed."
