Repair work to start at Chorley Library main entrance

Tuesday, June 19, 2018

The main entrance to Chorley Library has closed temporarily while essential repair work is carried out.

Two other entrances are available for the public to use whilst the work is ongoing.

Lancashire County Council libraries manager Steve Lloyd, said: "We're very sorry for any inconvenience caused.

"We need to carry out some work to the main entrance. This work will need scaffolding and also a platform for the contractors to work from. So that the work can be carried out safely, and be completed as quickly as possible, we need to fully close this entrance.

"There are two alternative entrances to be used whilst the work is completed, which are clearly signed and very close to the usual entrance."

The repair work is due to start next week and is expected to take up to eight weeks to complete.

Chorley Library is part of Lancashire County Council's library service.

Anyone who lives in the UK can join a Lancashire library, either online or by visiting in person. It's free and there are no age restrictions.
