Staff and residents from Broadfield Home for Older People in Leyland are celebrating after receiving a donation from a local Lions Club.
Leyland and Cuerden Valley Lions Club has handed the Lancashire County Council-run home £200 to fund activities for residents.
Broadfield was picked out as a worthy cause after Moira Humphrey who works at the home and resident Barbara Duerden attended a tea dance hosted by the charity.
Lesley Nicholson, registered manager for Broadfield, said: "It's wonderful that the Lions have picked Broadfield as a worthy cause.
"We plan all kinds of different activities for people who live here from days out and garden improvements, to parties and entertainers.
"It's up to the residents' group to choose which activities we organise and they will decide how they want to spend the money at their next meeting.
"These activities really make a difference to people's lives – thank you to the Lions for their kind donation."
