Appointment of a new Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire

***Issued on behalf of the Lord-Lieutenant*** A new Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire has been appointed.

The Lord Shuttleworth KG KCVO, the Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire has, with The Queen's approval, appointed Mrs Christine Kirk DL to take on this role and she will serve a three-year term with effect from 1 June 2018.

The current Vice Lord-Lieutenant, Colonel Alan Jolley OBE TD DL, will retire on 31 May 2018.

Mrs Kirk will act as Lord Shuttleworth’s deputy in representing Her Majesty The Queen in Lancashire.

She is married with two sons and lives with her husband Gary in Read, near Burnley.

Mrs Kirk was previously Chairman of the East Lancashire Hospitals Trust and Calderstones NHS Trust and was also Non-Executive member of Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Health Authority.

Currently Mrs Kirk holds the position of Director at Kirk Properties Limited

Mrs Kirk was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of Lancashire in 2007 and is a member of the Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund Advisory Panel.
