A by-election was held on Thursday 15 February 2018 for the Morecambe North electoral division.
The result was:
• Stuart Charles Morris, The Conservative Party, 1,332 votes
• Andrew Moore Severn, Liberal Democrats, 809 votes
• Darren Keith Clifford, Labour Party, 580 votes
Majority: 523 Turnout: 26.1%.
The Conservative candidate Stuart Charles Morris is elected with 1,332 votes (48.8%).
The composition of the county council is: Conservative 44, Labour 30, Liberal Democrats 4, Independents 2, Non-aligned 2, Green Party 1, UKIP 1.
This electoral division was previously held by Tony Jones (non-aligned to a political group) who resigned from the county council.
