By-election result - Wyre Rural Central

A by-election was held on Thursday 11 January 2018 for the Wyre Rural Central electoral division.

The result was:

  • Matthew Jacques Salter, The Conservative Party: 1,745 votes

  • Nic Fogg, Labour Party: 925 votes

  • Susan Jane White, The Green Party: 237 votes

  • Majority: 820 votes

    The Conservative candidate Matthew Salter is elected with 1,745 votes (59.86%)

    This electoral division was previously held by Vivien Taylor (Conservative) who passed away in September.

    The result does not affect the political composition of the county council, which is: Conservative 43, Labour 30, Liberal Democrats 4, Independents 2, Non-aligned 2, Green Party 1, UKIP 1, Vacant 1.
