The history of Bolton-le-Sands
Bolton-le-Sands Library is purpose built and was opened in April 1973 in the centre of the village. Prior to this date, the village library was based in the old Boys Free Grammar School, which dates from 1657, and is still used for community education. Since April 2000, the library has housed a beautiful 3-D map of the village, organised and produced by local artists and craftsmen to celebrate the Millenium.
