Taking control of your mental wellbeing

Here are five ways you can improve your wellbeing:

Be active

Stay connected

Talking to other people and feeling valued and part of your local community can be very important to people's overall health. 

If you are feeling isolated or struggling to get out and about in Lancashire, there are some community transport services available.   If you feel like you need some help you can find out what's available in our social care section and at the bottom social services.

Keep learning

Learning new skills can give you a sense of achievement and a new confidence.  You can find out about learning opportunities in our libraries and by visiting the Lancashire Adult Learning website.

Give to others

There's lots of things you can do for others, which can also improve your mental wellbeing and help you build new social networks. Find out about volunteering opportunities in Lancashire. We also have a community projects team who can help with local project

Be mindful

Being more aware (or mindful) of the present moment can help you to stay mentally well including your thoughts and feelings, your body and the world around you. Mindfulness can positively change the way you feel about life and how you approach challenges. Find out more about mindfulness on the NHS website.
