Lancashire's Grants for Growth is a £1.5 million grant scheme offering grants of up to £6,000 to community, voluntary and faith groups in Lancashire to help people access jobs and training.

'Helping disadvantaged people overcome some of the barriers that they face in moving towards opportunities in employment, education, training or volunteering' European Social Fund (ESF).

Since the launch in February 2005, over £1 million has been awarded to 190 projects.

The projects have used innovative and creative methods to engage with people. Initiatives range from informal job clubs, mentoring, skills workshops, work experience placements to actually funding people into paid employment. Many people have been helped to build up their confidence, gain new skills and qualifications and move into paid employment.

Lancashire Grants for Growth is benefiting people of all ages, backgrounds and faiths and hopes to make a lasting difference to the local communities it supports.
