Resources

Approved foster carers

If you need help and support, we'll always do our best to help and have provided a range of resources and training information below. As your local fostering service we’ll be with you every step of the way. From your initial application, through to your assessment and approval, and beyond as a foster carer for Lancashire County Council.

We recognise and appreciate how important the role of a foster carer is. We know that fostering can be challenging so as one of our our foster carers we offer you the best training and support to meet the needs of our most vulnerable children.

We offer a wide-ranging package of benefits and support to help you throughout and with every child you foster. We are proud that our Children’s Services are rated good by Ofsted.

Birth parents

For birth parents, we recognise that each family’s journey through care is unique, and we provide further guidance and support at the link below. Foster care support can last for a few days or a longer period depending on your child's needs. A foster family gives your child a safe and secure place to live, while you or they resolve any difficulties. Foster carers will follow your child's routine, where possible, and work alongside you.
