You Can Foster is a joint campaign between local authorities across the North West and Yorkshire to encourage more people living in the region to think about becoming foster carers.
Across the UK more than 85,000 children and young people are in foster placements, 10,000 of them in the North West. Securing a stable home environment for these children is vital if they are to have the best chances in life and realise their ambitions. The campaign is aimed at replacing foster carers leaving due to retirement and natural turnover, combined with an increase in the numbers of looked after children. Could you foster for your local authority and help a child achieve their ambition? Watch the You Can Foster video to find out more.
Children in the North West and Yorkshire need loving foster families. Visit You Can Foster to find out more about the campaign and help make a child's dreams a reality. Foster with us and we’ll support you every step of the way. Do something incredible today.
We have a number of events taking place throughout the county, including information evenings. If you would like to attend one of our evenings there is no need to book but please arrive early to avoid disappointment. You will have the opportunity to meet experienced social workers and current carers and ask questions. We are looking for people who can foster all ages of children, particularly siblings who need to stay together and teenagers. No formal experience or qualifications are needed, all we ask is that you have a spare room available and a desire to make a difference to a local child's life. Watch our 'Foster with us' video on this page to hear about the benefits of fostering with a large local authority.
